The MELT DOWN Concept
In our quest for lower maintenance costs by lower utilisation of labour we believe that stripping off floor polish must be the most highly labour intensive and wasteful.
Whilst we have undertaken to produce all our floor finishes with a clarity that is unmatched it will still become necessary to strip floors and reseal. The faster this task can be completed with the least use of expensive equipment the more profit you are going to make on the job. Because material costs are a fraction of the labour costs it is important to lower the labour cost first.
Slashes the Cost of Stripping Floors
On both large and small stripping jobs, MELT DOWN saves you time in setting up equipment, in purchasing floor pads, in double water rinsing and even in the purchase of scrubbing machinery. Its amazing dissolving action will strip even the most difficult non metallic floor finishes and sealers including polyurethane fortified acrylics with a speed that will amaze even the most sceptical.
Whilst MELT DOWN is the ideal stripper for hard to access jobless like stairs, supermarket checkouts and small areas where using machinery is difficult, it also maybe used on large areas.
Large areas become economical to strip if wet pick-ups are used to squeegee off and pick-up lifted polish film. MELT DOWN can also be used as a conventional stripper on difficult floors.
Dilute PUNCH 1 part to 5 parts water, flood mop, spray or auto scrub solution without vacuum on. Use Tynex brushes or black pads. Allow to stand for 5 to 15 minutes (dont let dry, reapply to keep solution wet). Scrub, brush or automatic scrub with clean water in solution tank to rinse as you scrub. If no auto scrubber, spray with clean water in solution tank to rinse as you scrub. If no auto scrubber, spray with clean water and pick-up with wet/dry vacuum.
Dilute PUNCH 1 to 40 to 1 to 60 parts water (3/4 to 1 cup per bucket) hot water works better than cold. Either flood mop and pick up dry or, if soilage is light damp mop in hot or cold water. Pay attention to edges by leaving solution stand for a few minutes and pick up solution last.
Add between 2% to 5% (1 to 50 parts water to 1 to 200 parts water) depending on the severity of the soil. Add to the solution tank using cold or hot water. Polypropylene, Nylon or Tynex brushes should be used in the order of severity of soil - polypropylene for the lightest soil, Tynex heaviest. Once per week, usually on the lightest traffic day, scrub with water only. If soilage removal is not responding use SPLASH diluted 1 to 100 instead of plain water. This should only be required 1 day per week.
Concrete Car parks
Sweep complete car park and with knapsack spray apply GREASE RELEASE directly to oily spills and allow to soak. To tank of automatic scrubber and 1 part PUNCH to 25 parts water. Most scrubber capacity in the 32 size is between 70 to 80 litres so you will need approximately 2.8 to 3.2 litres of PUNCH per tank. Wet scrub into complete car park leaving vacuum and squeegee off. Double scrub greasy areas. Do only a large enough area for PUNCH solution to stay wet before pickup and clean water rinse.
PUNCH is a strongly alkaline product, wear gloves and eye protection when pouring solutions of this product from the container. On the initial clean dilution of 1 to 5 parts water. PUNCH can be slippery on the floor. Always wear rubber gumboots with safety thread on initial cleaning jobs on ceramic tiles.
Do not allow solutions to splash on aluminium surfaces or brass surfaces as these will discolour, wash off immediately. Do not use on polished or sealed vinyl or timber surfaces.
|Medium Buildup||Dilute 1 part MELT DOWN to 4 parts cold water.|
|Heavy Buildup||Dilute 1 part MELT DOWN to 2 parts cold water|

Machine scrub with black pad, pick up with mop or squeegee No need to rinse
Apply a generous quantity to the floor; make sure all areas are covered. Allow to penetrate for 5 minutes (re-wet dry areas). To remove polish agitate mop over the floor suing ferrule pressure to dislodge heavier build. Rinse mop continuously in clean water to remove old polish from mop. Dust mop the floor when dry and recoat.
The latest method of removal is by wet-dry pickup vac. The squeegee actually peels the finish from the floor. Wait till dry, dust mop and reseal the floor.
MELT DOWN contains powerful solvents that will de-fat skin. Always use rubber gloves when handling this product.
